Training

  • CACFP Recordkeeping Training: This training provides guidance to CACFP sponsors or childcare centers, Head Start programs, afterschool programs, emergency shelters and adult day care centers. This training is important for staff responsible for paperwork and oversight of the CACFP. Per Ohio’s Annual Training Requirements, attendance at an in-person recordkeeping training is now mandatory for all sponsors once each year. Please visit the Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System (CRRS) training registration page to register.

CACFP Meal Pattern Training: This training details the meal pattern requirements for infants, children and adults, types of meal service and best practices. This training is intended for all existing sponsors or childcare centers, Head Start programs, at-risk afterschool programs, outside school hours centers, emergency/homeless shelters, adult day care centers and family day care home sponsors. Please visit the Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System (CRRS) training registration page to register.

General Program Reminders

  • For-Profit Entity Audit Requirement: All for-profit entities participating in the CACFP must obtain financial and compliance audits and submit the audit reports to the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) if total federal funding received from all sources exceeds $750,000. Audit reports must be submitted to ODE within 30 days of receipt of the report or nine months after the end of the fiscal year – whichever comes first. Please refer to the permanent agreement for complete information, which is available in the Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System (CRRS). Go to Applications, then Download Forms.

  • Implementation of Grains Ounce Equivalents: Please note that the requirement to use ounce equivalents measures for crediting grains is effective on July 1, 2022. The final rule is available on the Federal Register.  Updated menu templates are available on the download forms section in CRRS.
